By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

The prices for detergent, cleaning agents and cosmetic products are expected to rise in Iran starting from October, ISNA news agency reported.

“The prices for abovementioned products have increased by 15 percent in the first half of this year. Cosmetic products and detergents will rise in price by 18 percent, the prices for cleaning agents will grow by 20 percent, while other cleaning agents will rise in price by 25 percent from October,” said the report.

Commenting on the price hike, head of the Iranian Association of Detergent, Hygienic & Cosmetic Industries Bakhtiyar Alambeygi said that there is no shortage of detergent on the Iranian market.

He pointed out that all necessary measures have been taken in order to meet the demand for detergents in the next three-month period.

“Therefore, we believe that there will be no problems with that in coming months,” he said.

Iran is self-sufficient in the production of detergent and hygienic products. Domestic brands have long dominated the market, alongside a few foreign brands that have found their way on to the shelves.

The country's production capacity is high and there are a lot of companies operating in this sector. Domestic companies are capable of fully meeting domestic demand.
