Over 1 billion liters of fuel have been smuggled out of Iran in the past 3 months, Ali Moayyedi Khorramabadi, Head of Headquarters for Combating Smuggling of Goods and Currency, said at a press conference.
"We will witness pillage of national wealth as long as the great difference between prices remains," he said.
"In order to prevent this, a balance should be established between the local fuel prices and the prices in the neighboring countries," Khorramabadi added.
