Air passenger traffic down in Iran

In the first half of 2018, approximately 28 million domestic and foreign passengers were transported by more than 230,000 flights, Iran's Ministry of Roads and Urban Development said in the statement.

Most flights and passenger transport account for Mehrabad Airport. Some 65,973 flights were made from this airport and over 7.6 million passengers were transported.

Mehrabad Airport is followed by Mashad Airport (34,834 flights, 5,041,155 passengers) and Imam Khomeini airport (27,569 flights, 4,334,070 passengers). Shiraz, Ahvaz, Kish, Isfahan, Tabriz, Bandar Abbas and Abadan airports share the 4th and 10th places respectively.

As for foreign flights, in the first half of the year 41,033 flights were carried out in Iran and more than 6.1 million passengers were transported. This statistics shows a decrease compared to the same period of last year.
