Despite all warnings by the US on imposing an embargo on Iran and China, the economic relations between the two countries are preserved and developing, Li Kuiwen, spokesman for the General Administration of Customs of China, said in an interview with IRNA.

He said the increase in trade turnover shows the development of cooperation between the two countries.

China is the first and biggest buyer of oil from Iran, and also the biggest exporter of non-oil products to Iran, and this process was also preserved in 2018, he noted.

He added that value of China’s imports and exports to Iran reached $29.101 billion for the nine months of 2018, showing a 1.8 percent increase over the same period last year.

Commenting on the US sanctions against Iran, he said that the trade relations between China and Iran are developing without paying attention to a domestic law of another country.

China, as before, is cooperating with Iran in economy and trade, and the withdrawal of the US from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has no impact on the economic relations between Iran and China, he added.
