Due to the lack of compulsory standardization, some people exported poor quality honey, and the Iran National Union of Beekeepers lost the target markets, a source in the Union said in an interview with ILNA.
The source noted that Iran’s honey exports were very low in the past three years and one of its causes are the countries around the Persian Gulf which cut ties with Iran in this field.
Another reason is the production of low-quality honey, since standardization is not compulsory, according to the source.
