In the first five months of the Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), Iran’s chocolate, sweets and biscuit exports increased by about 33 percent compared to the same period last year, Chairman of Iran’s Biscuit, Confectionery and Chocolate Industries Association Jamshid Maghazei said in an interview with Young Journalists Club (YJC).

He said that during the period, there was a 29 percent increase in export in terms of volume as well.

Maghazei noted that presently, due to existing problems, a slowdown is observed in the market. If these problems aren’t eliminated, there will be certainly a decline in exports, he said.

“Iranian companies are looking for ways to export products to developed countries,” he noted. “They have succeeded in this direction. They have exported products to 66 countries, including those in Eastern Europe, and Australia, Japan, Russia and the US.”
