Iran’s exports increase by 12.5%

Iran has exported products worth of more than $30 billion since the beginning of Iranian calendar year, which started on March 21, 2018, said Director General for Export Department of Customs Office Ali Akbar Shamani.

The value of the country’s exports has increased by 12.5 percent as compared to the same period last year, Young Journalists Club (YJC) quoted him as saying.

However, Shamani noted that the volume of Iranian exports stood at 73 million tons, which is 4.83 percent less as compared to the same period last year.

“Iran has exported $6.607 billion worth products to Iraq since the beginning of the year, which accounts for 21 percent of the country’s exports,” he said.

Shamani went on to add that during that period, Iran exported 13 million tons of products to Iraq, which accounts for 18 percent of the country’s exports.

“Natural gas, iron and steel mills, various oils, household goods, agricultural products are the main products exported by Iran this year,” he added.
