Around 990 megawatts of Iran’s electricity supply is provided annually by the Khalij-e Fars Thermal Power Plant (TPP), said Mohammad Mahani Nejad, head of Iran's Khalij-e Fars Thermal Power Station, Trend reports referring to ISNA.

According to him, the station's fuel is gas and diesel, but mainly gas is used.

Mahani Nejad added that the station is supplied with gas via the 16-inch (app. 40-cm) pipeline from the Sarkhun Gas Processing Plant.

"Every section of the station consumes about 4500 cubic meters of gas per hour," he said.

Mahani Nejad noted that there are six gas turbines operating in the Khalij-e Fars TPP, and added that all of the station equipment was made by Iranian experts.

"There are 300 people currently working at this station," he said.
