Trend:
Iran's domestic market has consumed mineral products worth $13 billion, while the country seeks to implement sustainable framework for mineral extraction, said the head of Iranian Mining Engineering Organization.
"The statistics issued by the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade indicate that mine and mineral productions valued around $23 billion last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), while the domestic market consumed $13 billion worth of products," said Darius Esmaili, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"The production last year had significant role in saving foreign currency sources alongside preserving jobs," he added.
"The exploration and extraction process of mineral material should be executed in a way that would preserve the sources for the next generation," he said, noting the country's mineral reserves are not renewable.
"The exploration experts that are members of the organization can have proper role in framework of mineral extraction," Esmaili believes.
