Since the beginning of this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019), agricultural products worth $63 million have been exported from Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, Director of Iran’s East Azerbaijan Agriculture Department Akbar Fathi said, Trend reports via IRNA.
He said that exports of the products increased by 25 percent compared to the same period last year.
He added that raisins, dairy products, tomatoes, lettuce and cabbage take the major share in exports. “The products of the East Azerbaijan province are exported to Iraq, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, the UAE, Romania, Turkey, the former Yugoslavian countries and Russia,” he said.
From March 21, 2018, to March 20, 2019, agricultural products worth $290 million were exported from Iran’s East Azerbaijan province. This makes 13 percent of the province’s non-oil exports.
