Iran commissions 10-megawatt solar electric power plant in Fars Province

A 10-megawatt solar panel electric power plant has been commissioned in Larestan County of Iran’s southern Fars Province, according to the Ministry of Energy of Iran, Trend reports referring to the ministry’s website.

According to the report, the power plant was built by Takht-e Jamshid Pars Assalouyeh Petrochemical Company in a 20-hectare are for about 120 million euros.

This station will add 16 kilowatt hours of electricity to Iran's electricity grid annually.

The commissioning of the station will prevent the spread of 13,700 tons of pollutants to the environment annually. Also, water consumption will be reduced by 4,270 cubic meters, and the station will save 5.64 million cubic meters of gas per year in Iran.

With the joining of this power plant to the electricity grid, the amount of electricity produced from renewable energy sources in Fars Province reached 58.6 megawatts.
