During the four months (March 21-July 22) of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), the production of cars in Iran decreased by 38.4 percent compared to the same period last year, reads the report of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, Trend reports.
According to the report, 246,700 cars were produced in the reporting period. This is while 400,700 cars were produced in the same period last year.
Also, 19,100 pickups were produced during the four months of this Iranian year. This is while 19,400 pickups were produced in the same period last year. This indicates a 1.4 percent decrease.
During the four months, 566 buses, including minibuses, were produced. This is while 1,458 vehicles were produced in the same period last year. This shows a 61.2-percent decrease compared to the same period last year.
According to the report, 1,602 semi-trailer trucks were produced in the same period. In the same period last year, 4,937 trucks were produced, which shows a decrease of 67.2 percent.
During the same period, 6,124 tractors were produced. Compared to the same period last year (4,745 tractors), production increased by 29.1 percent.
