Products worth over $13M exported from Iran’s Qeshm island

During the first six months (from March 21 to Sept. 22) of this Iranian year (began on March 21, 2019), products worth $13.1 million were exported from Qeshm island in Iran’s Hormozgan province, said Mohammad Mehdi Berenji, head of industry, mining and production facilitation of the Free Trade Zone in Qeshm island, Trend reports with reference to IRNA.

Berenji added that exported products mainly include dry fish and shrimp, zinc, gas analyzers, metal products, cement and clinker, cigarettes and polyethylene mixtures.

“These products have been exported to the UAE, Somalia and Pakistan,” the head of industry, mining and production facilitation noted.

Berenji added that there are 193 companies operating in Tola, Fajr, Kaveh and Souza industrial parks located on the island. Products manufactured by 20 companies may be exported, he said.

“Thirty new companies will be established in the Free Trade Zone, and seven companies will start operating by the end of this Iranian year (began in March 21, 2020),” Berenji noted.

The Iranian head of industry, mining and production facilitation added that 58 industrial facilities are under construction with private sector investments worth $8 billion.
