Iran saves 6.5 million barrels of oil daily thanks to operations of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in Bushehr province, Ali Asghar Zarean, special assistant to Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, said at the 48th Specialized Exhibition of Nuclear Industry Achievements in Kerman province, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Zarean said that Iran can use strategic resources more efficiently as the country makes progress in the nuclear power industry.
Iran’s nuclear power industry is 100 percent localized, Zarean noted.
“The yellowcake, which is a strategic product, is produced domestically,” the special assistant said.
Iran is among the top 10 countries in terms of exploration, uranium extraction and fuel sector, Zarean added.
