Iran’s Mahan Air, private airline based in Tehran, will carry out the flights to Italy until December 15, Maqsood Asadi Samani, spokesman for the Association of Iranian Airlines, said.

“Mahan Air stops to carry out the flights to Italy’s Rome and Milan citiesdue to the US sanctions imposed against Iran,” Samani added, Trend reports referring to Mehr.

“Mahan Air carried out the flights to many European countries,” the spokesman said. “But presently, the company carries out the flights only to three countries.”

Samani said that Mahan Air will not carry out any flights to Italy after December 15.

“Presently, the company carries out flights to East Asia,” the spokesman said. “But the US sanctions will have an impact on the company's flights to this direction, too.”

Mahan Air also carries out flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sarajevo, Milan, Rome and Barcelona.

The US imposed sanctions on Iran in November 2018 and expanded the list of sanctions several times.
