Iran imports 340,000 tons of essential goods via Chabahar port

From Sept. 23 to Nov. 2, 2019, Iran imported 340,000 tons of essential goods via Chabahar port located in the country's Sistan and Baluchestan province, Deputy Director of Sistan and Baluvhestan Ports and Maritime Organization Hossein Shahdadi said, Trend reports referring to the organization's information portal.

Shahdadi noted that during the reported period, barley, corn for animal feed, raw sugar and rice were imported by six ships.

Shahdadi added that up to 210,000 tons of the freight have already been unloaded.

About 70 percent of the unloaded cargo is shipped from the port to be distributed within the country, Shahdadi said. Thus, 2,500 tons of products are shipped daily from this port, the deputy director added.
