Nine contracts for maintaining and increasing oil production will be signed in the coming two weeks in Iran, Iranian Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Masoud Karbasian said, Trend reports referring to the NIOC website.
The minister made this announcement at the signing ceremony of an agreement between the National Iranian South Oilfields company and MAPNA company to develop and increase production at Parsi and Paranj oil fields.
Karbasian noted that 10 agreements worth 65 trillion rials (about $1.5 billion) have been signed regarding this project so far.
The minister added that 15 drilling rigs are operating and drilling at some wells has been completed.
Touching upon the project of transporting crude oil from the Goureh oil terminal in Iran’s Bushehr province to the Jask oil terminal in the Gulf of Oman, Karbasian said that the Goureh-Jask Crude Oil Pipeline is under construction.
The minister added that the construction of a 1,000-kilometer pipeline worth more than $1.8 billion is on the agenda of NIOC, noting that this work was entrusted to local manufacturers and contractors.
