Iran's Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company to increase production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6

Production at Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company of Khuzestan province in western Iran will increase by 18 percent in the current Iranian year (starting from March 20, 2020), the company's CEO Reza Ghasemi Shahri said, Trend reports citing Shana news agency.

According to Ghasemi Shahri, the production of the company increased by 3 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).

Ghasemi Shahri added that one of the company's plants supplied more than 267,000 tons of products, which is an increase of 20 percent.

"Last year, 10 percent of the company's products were exported to other countries, and the export operations will continue this year,” he said.

The official said that last year, the company launched the Poly H phase and the plant's production increased from 132,000 tons to 158,000 tons per year.

Ghasemi Shahri said that the changes are being made in pacakging of the company's single superphosphate (SSP) unit, which will be delivered in bottle grades.

“With this changing, the company will produce 150,000 tons of bottle grades per year and the company's revenue will increase minimum by 1.5 trillion rials (about $35.7 million),” he said.

Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company produces purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

The company launched its activity in 1998 and it operates in Bandar Imam Special Economic Zone on the area covering 34 hectares.

The company produces more than 1.6 million tons of products a year, and the value of the company's annual production is estimated at more than $800 million. The company operates under the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industry Company of Iran.
