The Khouzestan Steel Company of Iran set a new record by producing about 2 million tons (1.97 million tons) of steel ingots during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), Executive Director of Khouzestan Steel Company, Ali Mohammadi said, Trend reports citing the company’s official website.
Mohammadi said that the previous record stood for about wto years. Thus, more than 67,000 tons of products were produced compared to two years ago.
Mohammadi added that the company produced 1.02 million tons of steel ingots in the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20-June 20, 2020).
“The Khouzestan Steel Company expects to produce 3.8 million tons of steel ingots in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 to March 21, 2021),” he noted.
The director stressed that as in previous years, the Khouzestan Steel Company intends to play an important role in Iran's steel exports by meeting domestic demand.
Iran exported $8.49 billion worth of steel products in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).
