Iran begins enriching uranium using new generation centrifuges

TEHRAN, Iran, Apr. 19

A member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian parliament said that enriching Uranium at 60 percent by the Islamic Republic of Iran is a very serious action and will happen with the new generation centrifuges.

"The first incident in Natanz nuclear site showed that the enemies are looking to hit our nuclear facilities; The second incident actually showed their way of thinking and but they will definitely get the answer,” the member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament Fada Hossein Maleki said, Trend reports citing ILNA.

Referring to the Iranian's concern on the insecurity of the nuclear facilities, Maleki said that people are worried and it is natural.

“They are watching at what is happening and they want the country to progress,” he added.

"On the same day of the Natanz Nuclear Site incident, the National Security Commission held a meeting with the Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif,” he announced. The Head of AEOI, Ali Akbar Salehi, could not attend the meeting.

"In the first moments, we examined the issues and a delegation of MPs went to Natanz site,” he said.

Referring to the beginning of enriching uranium at the start 60 percent level he said that when the electricity was cut off at the nuclear site, a number of centrifuges shut down. The new generation centrifuges were used to increase the enrichment rate.
