Iran increases salaries for army personnel

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran announced the increase in the salaries of conscripts.

“With the diligent efforts of the Parliament and the Planning and Budget Organization, the salaries of conscripts have increased significantly,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran announced in a statement, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

According to the statement, the average salary of conscripts from $100 in 2020 will be increased to $357 in 2021.

Married and elite conscripts are paid between $476 to $952.

According to the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, all men older than 18 years old must go for military service or conscription. Length of conscription is not a fixed time according to the law, it can change due to the country's need for soldiers but couldn't exceed 2 years. The minimum time is 18 months.
