Iran re-opens decommissioned power plants

TEHRAN, Iran, July 28

Trend:

Deputy Managing Director for National Grid Dispatching of Iran Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi announced the returning of decommissioned power plants to operation, Trend reports citing Tasnim News Agency.

“On Monday, the peak power consumption reached 66,887 MW, but on Tuesday the situation was somewhat better because the decommissioned power plants were put into operation again,” Mashhadi said.

"On Tuesday, the electricity consumption in some provinces has been increased, especially the provinces located in the northern and southern part of the country,” he said.

Also, speaking about the power outages, Mashhadi said that if people could follow the protocols, and keep their air conditioners on a certain level (25 degrees), then Iran could pass through the hot weather days with less problems.
