TEHRAN, Iran, Oct.9
Trend:
Iran's government will look into starting construction of two million apartments for low-income families in the near future, Iran's Minister of Road and Urban Development Rostam Ghasemi said, Trend reports via ILNA.
He said the activity includes implementing the 'housing plan' to build 4 million residential units in the next four years.
Ghasemi said about $85 billion is estimated to be provided as advance for Iran's housing sector per year and the Ministry of Road and Urban Development is to establish a data bank for assignment of government's lands to this housing project.
Registration for new housing units will start in next 10 days online. The project is expected to reduce surging real estate prices.
Mehr Housing Project and the National Housing Action Plan were two other affordable housing schemes, previously launched by former administrations that faced shortage of resources.
