Iran seeks to provide a truck fleet with a capacity of 10 tons through domestic production, Iranian Minister of Road and Urben Development said, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Rostam Ghasemi made remarks at a joint meeting with the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin and his deputies.
The Minister of Roads and Urban Development called for the participation of other agencies in the modernization of the railway fleet.
The shift from roads to rails will be a not very easy job, he said mentioning some obstacles that limit this transition.
He noted that the industrial companies have to pay their debts to the railway companies in order to provide financial resources for the development of the railway network.
