Siraf Pars Port in Iran becomes country's major liquid gas exporter

TEHRAN, Iran, Jan. 28

The manager of Iran`s Siraf Pars Port Payam Motamed announced the export of 345,000 tons of liquid natural gas products of Pars 2 refineries between March to December 2021, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Siraf Pars port is the second largest gas export terminal of productions of South Pars field that was built backed by $350 million worth of investment.

The port has been built with the goal of loading and exporting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), as well as storing and exporting sulfur produced by Pars 2 refinery in the Kangan area, Bushehr Province.

"Since January 2020, 12 ships, consisting a total of 345,000 tons of propane and butane gas worth more than $210 million have been loaded and exported from Siraf Pars port,” Motamed said.

He said the terminal has the capacity to receive liquefied natural gas and sulfur products of Kangan oil refinery.

According to the estimations, a total of 5,500,000 tons of liquefied natural gas will be exported annually through the port's loading docks.

The port official said that Siraf Pars Port has two sulfur warehouses, each has a capacity of 43,000 tons.
