Iran, Uzbekistan to increase agricultural trade

TEHRAN, Iran, Feb. 21

Iran and Uzbekistan are seeking to increase agricultural trade by establishing a joint committee, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The Iranian Minister of Agriculture and his Uzbek counterpart have expressed interest in increasing bilateral trade during the 14th Iran-Uzbekistan Joint Economic Commission Conference where both sides agreed to form a joint committee next month.

"The plan for future activities in the agriculture sector is to increase financial transactions between Iran and Uzbekistan," said the Uzbekistan Minister of Agriculture during the meeting.

Iran is interested to improve the quarantine of livestock and dairy products and exporting chicken, milk powder, and other agricultural products.

Iran Minister of Agriculture has noted bartering agricultural products between two countries could be possible.
