TEHRAN, Iran, May 27. Iran is importing 5 million tons of wheat or grain from Russia as part of the deal between the two countries, said Iranian Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji, Trend reports citing Tasnim News Agency.
"The ceiling of Iran and Russia's trade ties is $4 billion annually that is to increase to $40 billion," he said.
He pointed out that Iran and Russia finalized an agreement for the grain supply as part of several deals signed during a visit by a Russian economic and commercial delegation head by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
The two countries have agreements over energy, industrial, and transportation cooperation, development of shared oil and gas fields, and joint investment in petrochemical products.
