TEHRAN, Iran, September 26. Iran’s private sector is expanding trade ties with neighboring countries, said chairman of Iran-UAE Joint Chamber of Commerce Erfan Shakeri, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

The Iranian government’s actions and negotiations have created proper ground for private sector to expand transactions with the neighboring countries, he said.

He underlined Iran’s export to the UAE was $2.7 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year (started March 21,2022), while the country has imported $6 billion worth of goods from the UAE.

Iran’s major exports to the Emirates included agricultural products, food items, pistachio and saffron while it imported computer hardware and mobile phones from the UAE.

The trade between the two countries is expected to increase in the second half of the current Iranian year, he noted.
