BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 12. In the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024), Iranian non-oil product exports over the Caspian Sea to Caspian countries totaled 2.5 million tons valued at $783 million, executive director of Iran Caspian Shipping Company Kambiz Jahanban said, Trend reports.
According to Jahanbani, non-oil exports to Caspian countries via
the Caspian Sea increased in value by 20 percent in 11 months
compared to the same period last year, and agricultural, garden,
and greenhouse products account for 30 percent of total
exports.
The company's spokesperson stated that the company owns 30 vessels
capable of transporting 120,000 tons of cargo. Currently, the
company has 280 refrigerated vessels.
"If exporters are interested, Caspian Marine Company can raise the quantity of chilled containers to 500 within the next six months. Currently, funds of $1.1 million are provided for shipping these containers up to the specified number," he noted.
To note, Iran's Customs Administration reported that the country's non-oil exports totaled approximately 125 million tons worth $44.9 billion in 11 months. Iran's non-oil exports fell 8.87 percent in value but climbed by 11.4 percent in weight terms.
