Iran's Kermanshah province sees transit increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. Transit through Kermanshah province, located in western Iran, increased by 253 percent in value and 339 percent in weight in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024) compared to the same period last year, the controller of customs of Iran's Kermanshah province, Ali Asghar Abbaszadeh said in Trend reports.

According to Abbaszadeh, 3.56 million tons of products worth $1.47 billion were transported through Kermanshah province during the past 11 months.

Abbaszadeh added that about 3.52 million tons of products worth $1.44 billion were transported through Kermanshah province's Parviz Khan customs. Transit of products through this customs office increased by 283 percent in value terms and 341 percent in weight terms compared to the same period last year.

The customs officer informed that 44,200 tons of products worth $27.1 million were transported through Khosrow Customs of the province.

He said that fuel oil, Nafta, bitumen, and other products were mainly transited through the province.

To note, 16.1 million tons of products were transited through Iran in the first 11 months. Transit through Iran increased by 35 percent compared to the same period last year.
