BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. The production of aluminum ingots in Iran increased by 2,700 tons, i.e., 0.5 percent, in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024) compared to the same period last year, the report of Iran's Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation (IMIDRO) said, Trend reports.
Based on the research, Iran's four aluminum companies
manufactured 582,200 tons of aluminum ingots in 11 months. The
total from the same period last year was 579,485 tons and further
data shows that, the Southern Aluminum Company produced 255,456
tons, Iran Aluminum Company 159,677 tons, Almahdi Aluminum Company
133,803 tons, and Iran Aluminum Company 33,234 tons of aluminum
ingots in the first 11 months.
According to the data, four enterprises produced 54,893 tons of
aluminum ingots over an 11-month period (January 21–February 19,
2024). Production climbed by seven percent from the same month last
year. During the same period last year, the four enterprises
produced 51,416 tons.
Iran Aluminum Company produced 206,438 tons of alumina (aluminum oxide) in the first 11 months.
The report added that Iran Alumina Company produced 537,317 tons of bauxite (raw material for alumina powder) and 347,313 tons of aluminum hydroxide during the 11 months.
To note, Iran's annual aluminum ingot production potential is about 700,000 tons.
Iran's four aluminum companies produced 632,166 tons of aluminum ingots in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023). Iran's aluminum ingot production increased by 12.9 percent compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022).
