BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. Various foreign currencies sold at Iran's Foreign Exchange and Gold Exchange Center at the NIMA rate on March 17 rose by $15.9 million compared to March 16, Trend reports, referring to Iran's Central Bank.

According to the information, about $108 million worth of foreign currencies were sold at Iran's Foreign Exchange and Gold Exchange Center on March 17. Foreign currency worth $91.9 million was sold in Iran's Foreign Exchange and Gold Exchange Center on March 16. A total of about $561 million worth of foreign currency was sold on March 17.

To note, Iran's Currency and Gold Exchange Center started operating on February 21, 2023, to prevent a sharp rise in the prices of foreign currencies on the black market.

The official exchange rate of the Central Bank of Iran today is 42,000 rials to 1 US dollar and 45,747 rials to 1 euro. The Central Bank of Iran notes that several products can be imported at this exchange rate.

The exchange rate announced by the Central Bank of Iran to banks and exchange offices is called the SANA system. According to this system, 1 euro was worth 473,512 rials, and 1 dollar was worth 434,725 rials.

The system in Iran in which businessmen sell a certain portion of foreign currency obtained by exporting products to the country's economy is called NIMA. According to this system, the price of 1 euro is 441,709 rials, and the price of 1 dollar is 405,527 rials.

The price of 1 dollar in Iran's black market ranges from 597,000 to 600,000 rials, and the price of 1 euro ranges from 651,000 to 654,000 rials.
