Iran's Qom province sees surge in non-oil exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. Iran's non-oil exports from Qom province, located in the north of the country, amounted to 242,000 tons worth about $233 million in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024), Director General of the Customs Administration of Iran's Qom Province, Esfandiar Derikvandi said, Trend reports.

According to Derikvandi, last year, non-oil products were exported from Qom province to more than 30 countries. The non-oil products were mainly exported to Iraq, the UAE, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Russia.

Derikvandi added that more than 35 types of non-oil products were exported from the province during the mentioned period, including lead, shoes, polystyrene, agricultural products, steel ingots, washing machines, etc.

A customs official stated that the provincial customs revenue amounted to 20 trillion rials (about $476 million) last year. This is 50 percent more than the previous year.

To note, more than 3,000 industrial enterprises operate in 7 industrial parks in Iran's Qom Province. Over 40,000 workers are employed at these enterprises.
