Product import to Iran's South Khorasan province released

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. A total of 2.6 tons of products worth $8.09 million were imported to Iran's South Khorasan Province, located in the northeastern part of the country, in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024), director general of the Customs Administration of Iran's South Khorasan Province Mohammad Kouhgerd said, Trend reports.

According to him, in the last Iranian year, imports of products to South Khorasan Province increased by 6 percent in value terms and decreased by 30 percent in weight terms compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).

Kouhgerd added that the province mainly imported diesel generators, mining machines, rice, cotton, etc. last year.

The official stated that the products were mainly imported from Germany, Türkiye, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan.

Meanwhile, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, imports of products to Iran in the last Iranian year amounted to 39 million tons worth approximately $66.3 billion. The import of products increased by 9.77 percent in value and 4.39 percent in weight compared to the previous year.

To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing the products needed by the country and imposes certain restrictions on the importation of products manufactured in the country.
