Iran's Ardabil province reports growth in non-oil exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. Iranian Ardabil province, located in northwestern Iran, exported 213,000 tons of non-oil products worth $120 million in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024), Chairman of the Industrial, Mining, and Trade Organization of Iran's Ardabil province Masoud Irani said, Trend reports.

According to him, exports of the products increased by 22 percent in weighted terms compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).

Irani added that Iran exported non-oil products from Ardabil province to Russia, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Belarus, and other neighboring countries last year. The main exported products are potatoes, construction materials, ceramics, rubber, toys, fruits, and vegetables.

The official stated that 20,000 tons of products worth $132 million were imported to Ardabil last year.

To note, approximately 1,120 industrial enterprises and 200 mining enterprises operate in Iran's Ardabil province.

Meanwhile, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, the country's exports of non-oil products in the last Iranian year amounted to more than 136 million tons valued at $49.3 billion. Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 8.87 percent in value terms and increased by 9.82 percent in weight terms compared to the previous year.

Statistics from Iran's Customs Administration show that imports of products to Iran last year amounted to 39 million tons worth about $66.3 billion. The import of products increased by 9.77 percent in value and 4.39 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
