Investments drawn to Iran's Parsian Special Economic Zone increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 15. Investments attracted to the Parsian Special Economic Zone, located in southern Iran, increased by 4.8 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (March 21, 2022-March, 20, 2023), executive director of Iran's Parsian Special Economic Zone Ali Asghar Allameh, said, Trend reports.

According to him, the Parsian Special Economic Zone of Iran attracted investments worth $3.88 billion last year.

Allameh stated that 82 percent of the investments attracted in the Parsian Special Economic Zone are in the petrochemical industry and processing industries related to petrochemicals. Some 16.2 percent of the investment is in support and services.

The official noted that the Parsian Special Economic Zone operates within the framework of the Iranian Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) and is considered one of the largest economic zones in the country.

To note, the Parsian Special Economic Zone is located in the south of Iran between the provinces of Hormuzgan, Bushehr, and Fars. This zone is established for the production of 14 million tons of petrochemical products, 4 million tons of steel, 1,400 tons of aluminum powder, 5,000 megawatts of electricity, and 750,000 cubic meters of water. The territory of this zone is 9,800 ha.
