BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. The import of products from Kazakhstan decreased by 49.3 percent in value and 49.7 percent in weight in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.
According to statistics, last year Iran imported 139,000 tons of products from Kazakhstan worth $63.3 million.
Meanwhile, during the same period last year, Iran's imports from Kazakhstan amounted to 275,000 tons worth about $125 million.
Statistics add that Iran mainly imported agricultural products, various types of machinery, etc. from Kazakhstan.
The information shows that for the 12th month of the last Iranian year (from February 20 through March 19, 2024), the import of products from Kazakhstan amounted to 9,810 tons worth about $5 million.
However, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, import of products to Iran last year amounted to 39 million tons worth approximately $66.3 billion. Imports of products increased by 9.77 percent in value and by 4.39 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
To note, in importing products, Iran mainly focuses on the import of products necessary for the country and imposes certain restrictions on the import of products manufactured in the country.
