Iran's Amirabad bumps up its freightages

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23. The volume of cargo loading and unloading in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 to April 20, 2024) at Iran's Amirabad Port in Mazandaran Province, located in the north of the country, grew by 48 percent compared to the same month previous year, director general of Iran's Amirabad Port Maritime Administration, Mohammad Ali Mousapour said, Trend reports.

He claims that in the first month, more than 485,000 tons of goods were loaded and unloaded at Amirabad Port.

According to Mousapour, 24,700 tons of cargo were loaded and discharged everyday throughout the first month.

The official indicated that several targets have been set for the current Iranian year (March 20, 2024–March 20, 2025) to improve cargo loading and unloading at Amirabad Port.

Amirabad is Iran's largest port on the Caspian Sea. This port covers an area of 1,060 hectares.

Furthermore, more than 433,000 tons of goods were loaded and unloaded at the Iranian port of Amirabad during the 12th month of the previous Iranian year (February 20–March 19, 2024). This port handled 85,700 tons of exports and 338,000 tons of imports.
