BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23. The necessary steps have been taken for the first transit train to travel from Afghanistan to Türkiye through Iran, Deputy Executive Director of Iranian Railway Company Morteza Jafari said, Trend reports.
According to him, the official commissioning of the mentioned transit will be carried out after eliminating several shortcomings and confirming it in the form of an agreement with the railway companies of the two countries.
Jafari stated that Afghanistan is currently working on fixing the existing defects and problems on the Shamtig-Rouzanak railroad. After fixing the failures, the Iranian railroad company will be informed, and technical engineers will confirm that the train is moving safely.
To note, the rock stone, which will be transported from Afghanistan to Türkiye by rail, arrived at Rouzanak station in Afghanistan. Iran's Dogar Customs announced that it is ready to accept this transit cargo.
