Iran's President Hassan Rouhani reviewed the activities of the Bushehr nuclear power plant Jan. 13 during a visit to the province of Bushehr, the Iranian tasnimnews.com news website reported.
Rouhani visited various departments of the plant, and listened to reports of the plant's officials on its activities.
The Bushehr nuclear power plant was launched September 12, 2011.
Its construction was started in 1975 by the West German concern Kraftwerk Union A.G., which is a division of Siemens.
In 1980, the German government joined the US sanctions imposed against Iran after the Islamic Revolution of 1979, and the construction was halted.
Then, in 1995, Iran and Russia signed an agreement, under which the nuclear plant was supposed to be launched in 1999, but the completion of the project was repeatedly postponed.
The nuclear power plant was commissioned a few years later.
