Iran's President Hassan Rouhani has said the closure of the PMD (possible military dimensions to Tehran's nuclear program) file is a "political victory".
He made the remarks in an address to the nation aired live by the state TV channel IRINN, Dec. 16.
President Rouhani, congratulating the nation over the closure of the PMD, said "yesterday's achievement was not just a legal or technical achievement."
He said that yesterday it was proved that the Islamic Republic was honest towards its nation and the world.
The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) adopted a resolution Dec. 15, with a view to pave a way for implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA, aka nuclear deal).
The resolution will bring an end to a 12-year probe into Tehran's nuclear program, acknowledging that the Islamic Republic's nuclear activity is peaceful - a key step towards lifting international sanctions on the country.
Iran expects the deal to be implemented in the coming month, enabling the country to trade through international financial systems, receive $100 billion of its frozen assets, and resume oil trade on international markets.
Rouhani, further in his address, said Iran needs to take several measures to implement the nuclear deal, noting that a way has been paved for the deal's implementation.
He also predicted that the deal will be implemented in the coming weeks and the sanctions will be consequently lifted in January.
The president also said the IAEA admitted that Iran's nuclear program included no military activity, further calling on domestic organizations to prepare the country for an economic growth.
He called on domestic and foreign-based Iranian businessmen and entrepreneurs to use the opportunity to engage in economic cooperation in the country.
President Rouhani also urged international companies to invest in Iran's development plan as the country possesses large energy resources.
During the speech, the Iranian president also urged his administration's critics to stop criticizing the nuclear deal, saying that the era of criticizing JCPOA is over and called for unity among Iranians.
