Iran's possible return to JCPOA talks affecting trade ties - Chamber of Commerce

TEHRAN, Iran, Nov.3

Trend:

Iran's trade ties are being affected by the resuming of the JCPOA negotiations, head of Iran and Switzerland Joint Chamber of Commerce Sharif Nezam Mafi told Trend.

The effect of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) revival will be different from the previous achievements of the talks, and multinational companies' perception of the deal will be affected by it, Nezam Mafi noted.

Meanwhile, Iran's private sector is seeking to establish proper trade with the rest of the world, which mostly depends on value and volume of trade rather than the JCPOA revival.

Nezam Mafi said this is because there's a possibility the JCPOA deal could change, following the next US president election.

Possible revival of the JCPOA would be beneficial for Iran's trade and its economy overall, he said.

Also, the interaction between Iran and the Swiss Humanitarian Trade Arrangement (SHTA) channel has stopped, in anticipation of the deal's revival. There has not been a new transaction between SHTA and Iran, with the recent one being last year.

Iran has stated it will return to talks with the world powers aimed at reviving the 2015 nuclear deal by the end of November.
