Iranian Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says the deference between present-day Iran with what was 35 years ago is from earth to heaven.
According to Khamenei's official website, during a speech to young elites on Oct.14, he said, "you are far further than the US".
He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian elite university students and professors.
Khamenei said Iran has attained high status in scientific fields, despite the imposed war, political pressures, and economic sanctions over the past three decades.
He urged elite youth not to migrate to other countries.
He referred to higher intelligence quotient of Iranian youth compared to the world's average, saying that the Islamic Republic's power is intrinsic. "Smart, committed, and talented youth are the greatest asset of the country," he noted.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Khamenei said considerable progress of the country in the fields of nanotechnology, stem cells, and nuclear energy are not illusionary, but they are reality which is known to the whole world. "So, any move intended to discourage the youth and deny the rapid progressive movement of the country is treason."
