In the wake of the horrific terror attacks that occurred in Paris on Nov. 13, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his French counterpart Francois Hollande today mulled over the fight against violence and extremism.

In the wake of the horrific terror attacks that occurred in Paris on Nov. 13, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his French counterpart Francois Hollande today mulled over the fight against violence and extremism.

"During a telephonic conversation with President Hollande, we both emphasized the need to unite the world in the fight against violence and extremism," Rouhani noted on his Twitter account on Nov. 17 while referring to the conversation with the French leader.

Meanwhile, Reuters reported citing a source in the French government that Rouhani had insisted on the vital importance of undertaking the fight against the "Islamic State" and terrorism with "all our might" during the phone conversation.

A series of terrorist attacks were committed in Paris on Nov.13. Unidentified people opened fire at a restaurant, and three explosions occurred in the vicinity of the Stade de France.

In addition, unknown assailants took several hostages during a rock concert in the Bataclan theatre. As many as 129 people were killed as a result of these terrorist attacks, according to the latest data.
