Iranian intelligence forces have recently captured two terrorists from extremist groups such as the "Islamic State" (IS, aka ISIS, ISIL or Daesh), according to Hamadan Province Intelligence Director General Abtahi.
The official said the two were trying to reach the capital city of Tehran when they were spotted and arrested, Tasnim news agency reported May 22.
He did not provide any further details.
Over the past months, there have been numerous such reports in which Iranian officials have announced the capture or destruction of terrorist groups trying to commit terror attacks in the country.
Terrorists usually venture into Iran through borders with Pakistan in the east and Iraq in the west.
