Foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Thursday and on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement met with a number of foreign officials, including the Syrian envoy to the United Nations, IRNA news agency reported.
Zarif, during his meeting with Bashar Jaafari Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the UN examined the latest developments in Syria and also discussed with Jaafari promotion of cooperation between Tehran and Damascus.
Iran's top diplomat who is in Venezuela to attend the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement also received North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho and the two discussed bilateral ties between Tehran and Pyongyang and topics on the current NAM meeting agenda.
Egypt's former Minister of Family and Population and the UNESCO director-general candidate Moushira Khattab was another official who met with the Iranian foreign minister.
Zarif and Khattab talked about different international issues as well as the non-Aligned Movement.
