Iran’s security forces have arrested several people on espionage charges, Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi, Tehran’s prosecutor, said.
Dolatabadi told reporters in Tehran on Feb. 10 that the arrested people were collecting the country’s classified information in strategic areas.
The defendants were working under the coverage of scientific and environmental projects, the official added.
Dolatabadi said that the suspects who were arrested by one of the country’s intelligence organizations were put under custody by Tehran’s prosecutor.
No further details about the identity of the arrested people were unveiled.
