By Fatih Karimov - Trend: The US dollar was sold at 34,300 rials in Iran's free market on Dec. 11, compared to 34,100 rials on Dec. 10.

Euro and pound were traded at 42,800 rials and53,700 rials, respectively, compared to 42,300 rials and 53,400 rials on Dec. 10, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on Dec. 12.

Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Iran has put official rates of US dollar, euro, and pound at 26,932 rials, 33,539 rials, and 42,319 rials.

During ex-President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's second term, Iran's rial lost its value by about four times.

Each USD was sold at 9,830 rials in 2009, but the figure reached 36,000 in mid-2013, when Hassan Rouhani replaced Ahmadinejad.
