Iranian and Kazakhstani health ministers have signed a document for cooperation in healthcare and medicine, according to IRNA.

At the meeting, Yelzhan Birtanov also awarded his Iranian counterpart Hassan Qazizadeh-Hashemi the medal of honor of Kazakhstan's government.

Kazakhstan medal is awarded to a few number of influential figures, and this shows that the Iranian minister has played a major role in promotion of health in the world, the Kazakh minister said.

Qazizadeh-Hashemi, who was visiting Kazakhstan to attend a conference, marking the 40th anniversary of Declaration of Alma-Ata, has also met with counterparts from various countries.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Iranian minister met with his Armenian counterpart Arsen Torosian. The two sides emphasized the nececity of drawing an agenda and action plan by the joint working group for more cooperation on health issues.

The Iranian minister in a meeting with his Indonesian counterpart signed a document for healthcare and medical cooperation.

He had also a meeting with his Indian counterpart J P Nadda, where they agreed on sharing information and experience in medicine, pharmaceutics, and vaccine production.

Yet in another meeting, Qazizadeh-Hashemi and his Russian counterpart Veronika Skvortsova vowed to enhance cooperation on healthcare, medication and pharmaceutics.
