Tbilisi, Vilnius become brother cities

Tbilisi and Vilnius have reached agreement to become brother cities, Tbilisi Mayor's Office said. The document was signed by mayors of capitals of the two countries. The agreement calls for economic, cultural and social cooperation. Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava said in Vilnius that being brother cities means bilateral commitments.

"We will work so that residents of the two cities will make friends for the sake of our cities," he said.

Ugulava attended international forum of mayors entitled "Culture as Driving Force of Cities."  

Tbilisi mayor and Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus will open Vilnius Square in Tbilisi today.
